Paula Jayne has been living with triple positive (ER+/PR+/HER2+) MBC since 2017. She has also been diagnosed with early stage breast, ovarian, and endometrial cancers and lives with a chronic autoimmune disorder. Paula’s personal health experiences, combined with her graduate and professional work in public health gave her a multitude of perspectives on how health and disease are approached in the US. She is a strong proponent for research, interventions, and supports that improve quality of life for those living with not-yet-curable conditions and finds great meaning in advocacy. Paula has served on SHARE’s TalkMets helpline, as a Hear My Voice advocate for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, as a GRASP patient advocate, as a patient advocate grant reviewer for Metavivor, and on Mayo Clinic’s breast cancer SPORE advocate group. She's also assisted in creating curriculum for a limited series on advanced cancer for A Fresh Chapter, as well as serving as an AFC Alumni Ambassador. In Spring 2021, Anne Woodward recruited her to Season 2 of the Our MBC Life podcast for an episode on palliative care and the rest is history!
