Jersi Baker was born in New Jersey and resided in Charlotte, North Carolina. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development. Jersi was a three-time breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with DCIS in 2003 and underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction to her left breast, and treatment of Tamoxifen. In 2010 she had a local recurrence, surgery to remove it and several rounds of radiation. In 2011, Jersi was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer, which spread to her chest wall bones, spine and ribs, eventually developing into liver mets. Jersi was an advocate in her community, and involved in other breast cancer organizations, she founded and was President of a non-profit organization in Charlotte, North Carolina called Angel in Disguise Inc, which provides complimentary transportation to breast cancer patients to appointments, surgery, treatment and light errands, while waiting with them, as well as provides after care for those who need it and peer support. Jersi participated in several events and speaking engagements to promote the awareness and importance of helping to find a cure for metastatic breast cancer.

Jersi passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer on December 26, 2004. Her impact on the entire breast cancer community is immeasurable.
