Welcome to the Season 3 First Trailblazer of the Month episode!
Our first stop on Trailblazer on the Road is Go Jen Go, begun by one woman living with breast cancer recognized a need in her community for financial resources for those undergoing treatment for their disease. We spoke with the late Jen Pagani’s husband Joe, who shared with us Jen’s story and her amazing legacy. Susan Sears, the Executive Director of Go Jen Go, explained how this one person is making an impact on those in the Charlotte are who have encountered financial difficulty while living with cancer. Her passion for her career shown through as she talked with us.
We were joined by Maren Coffman, PhD, RN, CNE, Associate Professor at UNC Charlotte and a member of the Charlotte Metsters Support Group, as we spoke with Lynn Erdman, Executive Director of Carolina Breast Friends. This organization was born from the desire of one woman, Kristy Adams-Ebel, to speak with others who were going through breast cancer like her. Kristy’s vision grew and grew into a thriving organization committed to uniting and helping women and men with all stages of breast cancer by creating educational and social outlets. Kristy died in 2006, but her legacy lives on.
